Benington Community Heritage Trust

Benington Community Heritage Trust was formed in 2007 to search for a future for All Saints. Over the past 12 years its board of trustees has led a successful programme of research, consultation, fundraising and, most recently, restoration and redevelopment.

The trustees are now overseeing the opening of the building as The Beonna and look forward to bringing back some of their most popular events from previous years.

I was born and bred in the local area, and have lived and worked here all my life. I moved to Benington in 1992 to be closer to my day job

I am a founder member of the Beonna project. In my role as Chair of Benington Parish Council, a position that I have held since 2001, it was brought to my attention that All Saints Church was due to be made redundant. A village meeting was organised to find a way forward. It was resolved at that meeting that a working group would be formed to explore all and every possibility of keeping the heritage of Benington alive. This, many years of hard and sometimes challenging work, has led us to this point - a beautifully restored and functional multi-use building that Benington can be proud of.
